Antifungal Test on Kerai Payung (Filicium decipiens (Wight & Arn.) Leaf Extract to the GROWTH of Colletotrichum scovillei. Damm, P.F. Cannon & Crous. On Red Chili (Capsicum annuum L.)
Abstract
Chili is one of the most important commodities in Indonesia. Its decline in productivity is affected by anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum scovillei. Anthracnose is usually treated with a synthetic fungicide. Due to the side effects caused by synthetic fungi administration, natural fungicide based from plant extracts is highly needed. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with variation in kerai payung (Fillicium decipiens) leaf extract concentration, i.e. 0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, 5%, and was repeated four times. Parameters examined include disease occurrence, severity, and fruit weight loss. Results showed that extract administration affected disease occurrence and severity but had no effect on fruit weight loss. Extract with concentration of 3% showed the best treatment for anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum scovillei.
